  Working with Professor Mary Kang, I investigated methane emissions from abandoned oil and gas wells, to eventually mitigate the environmental impact from excess methane leakage. As a potent greenhouse gas, methane is a significant contributor to global warming and reducing its emissions is important to prevent continued environmental degradation. My involvement in the project involved preparing and conducting field work in oil and gas-producing regions, followed by analysis of field data in the laboratory. I also produced land use and land cover maps using ArcGIS to compare measured methane emissions from areas surrounding wells to natural emissions from land of various classifications. Show less

  1st Place Consulting McGill Engineering Competition Nov 2019 The McGill Engineering Competition is an annual interdisciplinary competition allowing McGill engineering students to test their skills in various areas. My team of four competed in the consulting category. In the six hours allocated, we created a solution to improve the holdings of an automobile insurance company by considering present-day technological developments and social, environmental, and economic impacts.
