  Intern

  As an intern at UC Santa Cruz's AA/PIRC, I coordinated and advertised multiple events geared towards AA/PI undergraduate students. The events educated attendees on AA/PI history, fostered community, and boosted the campus's AA/PI student presence. The largest event I coordinated was the year end ceremony with 200+ people attendance. From this internship, I gained collaborative and communicational skills.

  Peer Tutor

  As a writing tutor at the San Jose State University Writing Center, I assisted any enrolled student with research papers, theses, scholarship essays and more, paying close attention to content, grammar, and organization. I also developed and refined college-level writing guides that address various issues like presentation skills and effective sentence structure. I gained more responsibilities as time went on: I trained any onboarding tutors in our best practices, and I reviewed assignment prompts submitted by faculty. Exibir menos
