      I started in the office doing all clerical work for he accounting department. I became personnel officer, payroll supervisor and was safety officer for 6 months. I became Payroll Administrator and was in charge of all aspects of payroll, from new employee orientation and creation to General Ledger reconciliation and balancing. I kept my finger in the HR pie, even when others were in that role. at the request of the President. So much of what I was doing as payroll administrator had direct links to some personnel issues. My employment of 23 years was intense and went from starting work on computers when they were just coming out on the market in the late 1980s to processing a weekly payroll of 368 employees, some union some non-union.
