      As a Youth Ocean Advocate at the Seattle Aquarium, I acted as an 'interpreter' for the guests. I was educated on the content at all of the exhibits, and educated guests on the wildlife at each exhibit they were at. As a Youth Ocean Advocate I also served as a mentor for training new YOA's, and ran trainings on certain exhibits. I have been invited back over the course of my undergraduate and graduate degrees to give 5 minute 'lightning talks' on my research.

      Worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Baker's Lab at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami. Over the course of this position I was awarded a grant from the University to support my research (RSMAS SURGE Award), conducted qPCR and physiological assays, and designed experiments to test the dynamics of symbiont community assemblage in reef-building corals. During this time I developed skills in Excel, R and Python.

      Worked as research assistant in the 'Inventor's Lab' at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. Involved in setting up the functioning molecular lab and tank system, managing and running experiments, and mentoring and managing the high school interns hired at the lab. This job was performed in conjunction with research duties at the Rosenstiel School through the Coral Reef Futures Lab.
