      CSR/ Preventative Maintenance Technician

While attending automotive school I obtained a job at Uhaul starting off out in the yard receiving incoming trucks, trailers and other rental equipment. Receiving equipment consisted of inspecting the items to ensure they returned it the same way it was rented out per the details of their contract. Was also tasked with cleaning the equipment ensuring they were ready for dispatch, which also consisted of preventative maintenance measures such as checking oil levels, hose wear and tear, tires were of proper tread, wiring was in working order troubleshooting/repairing/replacing all the above when necessary. Eventually moved up to the actual making of the contracts, closing and modifying them when necessary as well. Show less

      Heavy Equipment Technician

Working on heavy equipment taught me how to be flexible and prepared for anything. Worked on different types of forklifts starting with gas and worked my way up to electric. Performed routine maintenance which consists of inspecting tires, steering components, hydraulic oil conditions and hoses. Looking for hazards such as exposed wires, making sure safety components are in working order such as horns, lights, suspension bushings, brakes, hydraulic oils and lines, making sure the equipment met OSHA standards. Engine overhauls are rare, but was part of a few complete engine tear downs. Worked my way up to be able to work on full restorations which consist of plumbing or modifying hydraulic systems, along with conjoining electrical systems through convertors as well as converting DC operating equipment to AC and vice versa. Wind Maintenance Technician/ Team lead

Performed annual maintenance on Mitsubishi 2.4 turbines, which consists of greasing yaw gears, refilling oil levels, inspecting generator brushes, repairing /replacing electric components and cleaning the nacelle. After 6 months I was made a lead of 8 technicians, tasked with a project of replacing 115 turbine blades. Once that project was done, was then appointed to a QA/QC maintenance lead of 4 technicians. While doing the QA/QC task we had to check and replace every single nut and bolt in the nacelle and hub. Any electric or hydraulic problems had to be fixed by using hand tools and/or multimeter to test electrical components, doing test like voltage drops, checking for available voltage, ohm testing and current testing using an amp meter. Replaced pressure relief valves, hydraulic pumps that lead to the tank, replacement of hydraulic cylinders and even troubleshooting of hydraulic solenoids. Performed fiber optic installation and replacements. Creating and performing daily job safety analysis, and attentive at all times. We always maintained a company TIRI score of 0. Show less

      Field Service Wind Technician/New Construction

On Vestas 2.4MW V100, V110 turbines, Installing IBEX 1000 climb assist, performing visual inspections of blades before install, taking pictures of damage and other discontinuities. Categorized my findings and sharing it with the blade repair technician. On MCC walkdowns, following Vestas guidelines, function of build in PLC, look for things such as torque marks, proper electric connections, mounting and tie off points, even proper utilization of zip ties. Aside from the structural visual inspections, also inspect the gear box, coolant and hydraulic systems for leaks. Pictures are taken, documented and shared with Vestas service if leaks are found. New construction on Vestas V110 doing Nacelle prep installing Cooler Tops, disassemble of temporary turning gear, install of turning gear and charging of the cooling system. Lifting operation installing Base-Mid to torque flange, torque of Hub and blade tensioning. After complete install of the tower I then preform MCC walk down of the tower as a QA/QC, taking pictures, interfacing with build on PLC and logging that every component on and to the tower is to spec and customer satisfaction. Commissioner

As a Com Tech. 2 I will cross train entry level and Com 1 techs on the ends and out of the wind turbine.I will perform LOTO procedures verifying various voltage readings between the pad mount transformer and the down tower assembly before isolating the two. Before energizing the turbine. Up tower I must verify volts, amps and ohm reading of all electric components such as 3 phase AC motors, input/output devices along with communication and fiber optics and troubleshooting thought the use of schematics as needed. From there I will download to PLC devices, open communications between devices and my laptop while entering specific information based on the grid and output needed from the turbine. Afterwards you perform a type of functionality test on the up tower components through physical button or command via laptop. Show less
