  CFD engineer

  As a CFD engineer, Shuoyuan was responsible for planning and performing CFD related simulation projects. He also did secondary development on commercial software to provide custom CFD analysing tools to customers. The project he participated are:1. Drum-Brake Heat Dissipation FSI Analysis (China FAW Group Corporation)The INTESIM team developed an automatically modelling-then-analysing software for identifying the damage conditions of a FAW designed drum brake through FSI simulation. Shuoyuan was responsible for creating the automatic CAD generation script, CFD script, and report generation script. The software received positive reviews from FAW engineers and has been used since then as a supporting tool for their brake design. 2. Oil Servomotor Closing Process Analysis (Shanghai Turbine Company, Ltd.)The faulty conditions of the Oil Servo device were identified through CFD simulation, and several modifications to prevent some faulty conditions were suggested.3. RoDip System Strength Analysis (MI Ninth Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd)Through one-way FSI simulation, Shuoyuan provides the customer with effective redesign advice of the RoDip device originally designed for small vehicles to operate on larger SUVs.4. Baojun 730 (MPV Car) Aerodynamic Shape Optimisation (SGMW Co., Ltd)As the three engineers' team leader, Shuoyuan was responsible for proposing the optimisation process, mesh generation and simulation schedule. The INTESIM team eventually reduced the drag ratio by 10%, and some of the proposed modifications are applied in the 2017 newer model of the car. Show less

  Envisage Space, Ltd. has developed an analytical software 'RelyMap', which is designed to analyse wide areas (pan-city/region) of a complex urban environment and identify areas where GNSS signal provision is either impacted or blocked due to anomalies such as building shadowing etc. RelyMap Enhance builds upon this technology and understanding to enable improved location accuracy for GNSS receivers in complex environments – initially focusing on the construction sector.In this project, Shuoyuan is responsible for developing, testing, and validating high-performance GNSS navigation solutions for ground-based autonomous systems with the RelyMap core engine implemented, which is capable of operating in complex environments, such as construction sites in built-up urban locations. The designed system aims to use additional sensors to compensate for the multipath effects of GNSS receivers and predict the possible poor GNSS performance in advance. A software-defined radio receiver is developed first to achieve easy accessibility and extendibility to the GNSS receiver software. Recurrent neural networks and their variations are applied to perform sensor fusion since the uncertainty models of the GNSS measurements are challenging to obtain deterministically. Show less
