      2009 - 2011
      Master of science (m.sc.) genomics

      • Performed in-silico¬ analysis of TFFs expression across normal tissues, gastric and breast cancer patient datasets .• Evaluated a spectrum of cancer cell-lines for TFF-expression by RT-PCR to identify “patient-like” models for TFF gene-expression.• Utilized knock-down studies coupled with reporter-assays to identify upstream and down-stream TFF signaling.

      2011 - 2017
      Doctor of philosophy (ph.d.) genetics

Activities and Societies: Stony Brook University Graduate Career Association • Identified a novel mechanism of SMS1 up-regulation in leukemia.• Developed new in vitro (RT-PCR and proteomics) and in silico (RNA-seq) methods to quantify and delineate gene-expression quantification from alternative transcriptional start sites (TSSs).• Identified the molecular signaling mechanism that regulates SMS1 expression in CML• Collaborated with 10 scientists across 5 labs to describe the role of sphingolipids in different cancers as part of an NCI-funded program project.… Show more • Identified a novel mechanism of SMS1 up-regulation in leukemia.• Developed new in vitro (RT-PCR and proteomics) and in silico (RNA-seq) methods to quantify and delineate gene-expression quantification from alternative transcriptional start sites (TSSs).• Identified the molecular signaling mechanism that regulates SMS1 expression in CML• Collaborated with 10 scientists across 5 labs to describe the role of sphingolipids in different cancers as part of an NCI-funded program project.
