  The African Public Health Network at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (APHN) is a student led organization, established in 1991, with a mission "to create a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and experiences as well as training and research collaboration related to public health issues of special concern to Africa". The members include students, alumni, and health professionals who are from Africa, have worked in Africa, or are interested in African public health matters.This year's tenure vision is to enable & strengthen bridges between the thinkers, the doers, and funders to advance African Public Health today and beyond with 3 strategic goals:I - Highlighting Successful African Public Health practices featuring African Public Health ChampionsII- Discussing solutions for the key African Public Health Challenges through the lens of collaborationsIII - Mapping the Public & Private Health careOrganizations advancing health care in Africa for global health enthusiasts.For these objectives, APHN has five topics of interest:Universal Health Coverage in Africa (UHC), Mental Health stigma in Africa, Maternal & child health, Female Leadership in Global Health Delivery, and Health care for crisis-affected populations in Africa.• 2022 - 2023 Strategic plan development for Enabling & strengthening bridges between the dreamers, thinkers, the funders, and doers to advance African Public Health• Appoint and manage a team of 12 people for a one-year tenurePlanning, implementation and monitoring of strategic plan projects• Create collaboration with public health champions from African NGOs, African governments, and Africa-related public health officials• Lead high-level advocacy events involving government officials and first ladies• Develop and approve operations and budgets Show less
