  Responsibilities: Monthly In-house Water analysis. Daily analysis of chemical make-up of products using the XRF.  Determining Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CCE) value by titration method for Agricultural Lime(Aglime) to determine its neutralising ability.  Compiling monthly quality report and reporting.  Working on bench-scale experiments for Chrome(VI) reduction to Chrome(III) on mine water. Operating and looking after the pilot bioreactor for mine water bioremediation project by University of Freestate. Onsite activities included:  Taking water samples and probe readings from the reactors and sending them to the university for analysis.  Preparing electron donor fed to the reactors.  Troubleshooting on the reactors.  General maintenance like cleaning of the probes from the ports on reactors, pipes and pumps to avoid blockages.
