      Responsibilities: Monthly In-house Water analysis. Daily analysis of chemical make-up of products using the XRF.  Determining Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CCE) value by titration method for Agricultural Lime(Aglime) to determine its neutralising ability.  Compiling monthly quality report and reporting.  Working on bench-scale experiments for Chrome(VI) reduction to Chrome(III) on mine water. Operating and looking after the pilot bioreactor for mine water bioremediation project by University of Freestate. Onsite activities included:  Taking water samples and probe readings from the reactors and sending them to the university for analysis.  Preparing electron donor fed to the reactors.  Troubleshooting on the reactors.  General maintenance like cleaning of the probes from the ports on reactors, pipes and pumps to avoid blockages.       Responsibilities: Maintaining a good communication between cross-functional teams. proactive training management in liaison with the relevant departments and managers. Taking part in conducting internal plant audits. Responsible for testing all products (raw materials/finished products) as per relevant ASTM and internal test methods to ensure that they meet Total’s & customer’s requirements.  Operation and necessary trouble shooting of the various Lab instruments / equipment.  Conducting Pre-Use Inspections on all lab equipment before use to ensure safe operation all lab instruments.  Carrying out calibration/ verification checks on all lab instruments/equipment.  Approving all blend instructions prior to blending. Testing & approving all bulk & filling line samples. Issuing certificates of analysis and certificates of origins upon request. Sampling & testing effluent water samples for compliance with Environmental system requirements. Assume the duties of the Lab Assistant or Lab Manager in their absence.  Conducting lab trial blends for formulation change project from GRI to GRII base oils. Participating in Round Robin Analysis and ensure results were submitted to lab Manager timeously.  Ensuring of good housekeeping. Capturing of data into spreadsheets and maintaining of all records.  Investigating blend failures and complete Incident reports.  Involvement in Quality inspections of packaging material.
