My coursework has included the use of software such as SpaceGass and Slope/W. My minor in Sustainable Engineering has provided me insight into energy and building sustainability, using Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), and improving my research skills. My final year research project focuses on the carbon emissions created during the supply and construction phase of buildings using the EPiC database and research methods. For the 2023 academic year I also participated in the Monash Sustainable Buildings student team, achieving 2nd place in the U.S. Solar Decathlon Design Challenge with the passive house Humming Home House design. Structural Engineering Intern

Within my role as a Structural Engineering Intern at Mott MacDonald, I cultivated a diverse skill set essential for my progression as a structural engineer. Within this position, I gained proficiency in critical software applications including Strand7 and Robot. I applied the Australian Standards to comprehend loads and load combinations on structures, and to aid in the design of structural elements. I also developed an understanding of the skills required within engineering consultancies and was able to appreciate the pace and problem solving required for this type of work.Despite the structural engineering nature of this internship, I have also been given the opportunity to explore my passion for sustainable engineering through the embodied carbon analysis of proposed schematic designs, and earned valuable experience in the process and reporting of sustainable analysis. • Kingston City Council

      Nov 2024 - now

In my role at the City of Kingston, I work alongside senior engineers to produce engineering design plans for footpaths and minor drainage projects using AutoCAD and Civil Site Design Software. I create cost estimates and populate construction and contract documentation. I work with multiple branches of the infrastructure team such as the construction and traffic engineering teams to efficiently deliver infrastructure designs for construction in the municipality with limited disruption to residents. I also have had the opportunity to develop project management skills through supporting senior engineers on larger projects, as well as through the management of my own projects from concept to construction. Show less Over the 2024/2025 Summer Period, I assisted the Development Approval Engineering team at the City of Kingston with the review of Legal Point of Discharge, Drainage Approval, and Build Over Easement applications submitted by residents and developers to Council. This position involved the evaluation of private stormwater drainage systems and the consideration of overland flow paths, as well as the regulations of the Council and other governing bodies. I built both my written and spoken communication skills with residents and developers through the distribution of Approval RFIs, and the response to phone call enquires. Show less
