      Oct 2009 - Sept 2010
      Sales Agent

After graduating and relocating to Dubai in September 2009 I was fortunate to secure a sales position with a brokerage company, managing my own area. Although this role was not what I had intended to do at the start of my career, I excelled, showing confidence and ambition, and I was regularly awarded ‘negotiator of the month’ for highest commission generated and the most secured business. This position taught me cutting edge negotiation and sales skills, and how to build and manage client relations. Reason for leaving - wanted to pursue a career in PR and Marketing after a year of sales experience. Show less

    • Leo Burnett Group

      Sept 2010 - Apr 2012
      Communications Executive (MS&L)

Luxury Communications Executive, Proctor and Gamble Prestige – Account executive for fragrances and make up, working with Hugo Boss, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Escada and Lacoste. Also taken on accounts with Kellogg's, Kraft, Sonia Rykiel and the Dubai Global Energy Forum with DEWA. I have learnt to juggle many different areas of this position at once; client relations with media relations, working for clients with very high expectations in the luxury and the corporate sectors.I understand the strict media boundaries in the Middle East are very different from the rest of the world, whilst working with major Arabic and English media titles in the region, and completing demanding daily tasks and last minute urgent requests. This position has exposed me to the entire business development and PR process from preparing and submitting the original editorial plans to presenting these to new and current clients, and finally pitching and securing the media coverage for each initiative. Planning the year strategically and keeping track of many different product launches and events at the same time has meant that time management has been one of the major keys to success.I have built excellent media relations and rapport with the media I am working with, which has lead to successful results and exceptionally positive client feedback.Reason for leaving - headhunted for a marketing role at Jumeirah Restaurants. • Jumeirah Group / Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts

      Apr 2012 - now
      Marketing and Communications Manager

Brand and communications manager for Caprice and Jumeirah franchise restaurants in the Middle East.I have developed a wide skill set while working in this position, and show an understanding of the marketing process from start to finish, as well as an ability to put together and execute a 360 marketing plan based on paid, owned and earned platforms. I have concentrated on learning how to get the most out of owned communication channels and website management as well as planning yearly budgets. Knowing how the market is running and what is going on in the world of marketing at all times is essential, so I attend seminars, conferences and academy's, then demonstrate and share what I have learnt.Project management involved creative copy writing, digital artwork, PR planning, agency briefing, social media management, and working closely with 3rd parties for external briefing regarding extra artworks, media buying agencies to tailor campaigns, our external PR team, and website advertising (such as The Entertainer, Expatwoman, Yadig, Trip Advisor, Time Out). Understanding how to pick and choose the right platforms for different brands is one of the most valuable skills I have learnt, as well as learning to utilise the strengths of different team members to get the best possible outcome for the brand, and the individuals involved.
