      I was an undergraduate student researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Melinda Novak. I assisted in the environmental enrichment program in place. I also examined cognitive and developmental behaviors in rhesus macaques. Performed animal care duties for rhesus macaques and marmosets. This included moving animals, cleaning cages, feeding and watering, and daily health checks.

      I was a graduate student in the Schwartz lab. My Thesis involved the investigation thermal physiology and metabolism in an ALS model mouse. This work involved development of animal models, histology, qPCR, behavioral assays, metabolic phenotyping, and overall study design and execution. I developed deep collaborations to complete my work and wrote a grant for the ALS therapy alliance that was accepted. I finished my masters work January 2014.

I currently direct complex in vivo experiments from the study design, written protocol all the way through the final report. This involves coordination will my in vivo team to ensure that all studies are carried out in the most efficient way possible.In addition, I am responsible for leading all necropsy activities within DIS. This involves consulting with the DAs regarding study design, organization of the necropsy, and assigning resources. Show less
