  Reflecting on the end of my cadet period, I can confidently say it was an incredibly enriching and productive experience. Over the course of more than a month in dry dock in Malta, during our five-year class visits and significant structural repairs on the ship, I thoroughly explored every corner of the vessel alongside the first and second officers. This hands-on approach allowed me to deepen my understanding of safety culture and risk assessment. Once the ship was back in operation, I eagerly took on the responsibilities of the first and second watch, working closely with the officer of the watch and effectively executing my duties. Throughout these months, I conducted numerous inspections, tests, and maintenance on life-saving equipment, while also training the crew and leading emergency response drills, further enhancing my skills and confidence.
