  Led design of two primary subsystems on scalable, high power 5-15 kW fiber laser. Produced documentation for design reviews including DFA and simulation results. Performed CFD/FEA to minimize temperature of high power fiber optic assembly while minimizing design footprint. This doubled the power handling performance. Designed and analized system level brackets and mounting features that secured individual modules to pass impact and vibration testing. Lead mechanical engineer on various opto mechanical components. Responsible for design, thermal/CTE analysis, and validation. Led continuous improvement efforts across the entire fiber laser line to design replacement parts to improve DFA, reliability, and reduce cost. Worked with a new nLIGHT team to take design of defense-oriented High Energy Laser (Narrow Linewidth Amplifier, NLA) from conceptual phase to production units with multiple unique design spins. Led design of cold plate, including FEA/CFD modeling to optimize design. Collaborated with the team to design three new systems based on the NLA to meet customer demands for reduced size and weight, and R&D programs with academic institutions. Designed and tested tightly constrained fluid manifolds and channels to reduce assembly size and weight. Facilitated prototype builds by finishing machining, assembling, testing, and fixing any problems found.
