  As a Section 8 Housing Specialist, my job was to take applications for state assisted rental properties for Clark, Floyd and Harrison Counties in Indiana. The application process is a lengthy one, with waits up to three years for qualified individuals. Rental assistance can vary from less than $20 per month to covering the full rent, depending on the family's income. Section 8 rental properties must adhere to very strict standards or the landlord could be terminated from the program. As well, the families must adhere to the rules and regulations or risk being terminated for life from the program. No one with a felony, any drug related charges, or violent charges will be admitted to the program.This program is great for those who are in sincere need of long term rental assistance. People with a full time job, people who are full time students, people who are disabled and people over the age of 55 move to the top of the list, as self sufficiency is encouraged. Show less

Our whole community recently got new windows, and our parking lot was resurfaced.
