  Since I began teaching 5 years ago at Nike Golf Schools, I fell in love with the ability to make people smile. As we all know, golf can be anything but smiles and good times and I am a firm believer that modern day extreme scientific approaches to the game often times cause more frustration to the average golfer than they help. Unless your a numbers crunching swing machine like Tiger Woods, golf should not and more importantly does not have to be a science. Similar to an artist on a blank canvas, each and every one of us begins our golfing portrait on a blank slate. Every shot is a stroke towards it's completion and every stroke is equally as important as the last. It's this concept that I want to instill in my students. It is the pure joy of imagining a shot, utilizing basic fundamentals to execute, and accepting the results that allows you and I the "golfer"​ to enjoy the game for its true beauty day after day. My teaching theory is simple and can be summed up in one question. "What is the most important shot in golf?" The answer is the one you are about to hit. True happiness I believe comes from discipline and it takes discipline to stay in the moment and focus in on this shot at this moment. Over the last few years I have worked a tremendous amount with Jr golfers and have ran numerous Jr events. They are by far my favorite students to work with because they are indeed those blank canvases. As I continue to grow as a man, player, and teacher I can only say that finding the joy in anything you do makes even the tough times okay. Show less
