      I joined Transport for NSW under the Technical services branch for 4 months. Projects included: - Level 1/2 inspection of timber, concrete and steel bridges for the Forbes Shire Council post 2022 floods around the region and create post flood inspection condition reports. I later presented the works during the RTS livestream to senior colleagues. - Investigation of an issue at Grafton Bridge which has resulted in unreinforced concrete portal frame piers to move inward, resulting in cracking of the outer walls - Prepare briefs for the installation of bridge monitoring instruments such as strain gauges on Barham Bridge - Site briefing with project manager as well as external contractors for the installation of Strain gauges and accelerometers on the soffit of the concrete deck at Mount Ousley Bridge to enable vibration measurements before installing Fibre-reinforced polymer to strengthen the bridge capacity.- Grillage analysis of a 3 span concrete bridge over Swamp Creek to see if it supports Semi 45.5 and a BD68 side by side on the centreline as well as 600mm from the kerb.- Level 3 inspection of Tooleybuc Bridge lift span to assess if additional strengthening is required Show less As a Project Engineer helping deliver 40 overtaking lanes along the Newell Highway, I was responsible for: - Liaison of property acquisition with different stakeholders including land councils, design team, property team, communications team, legal team, etc. - Investigation of potential locations of new overtaking lanes along the highway taking into consideration of the gap analysis, Cost, environment, boundary and road intersections. - Review of civil designs, pavement designs, survey, WHS, quality and environmental documentation - Review project costs and forecasting monthly, financial year and project estimate at completion (EAC) costs - Conduct pre-seal inspections, 12 month final seal inspections and post defect liability period inspections- Review communications and collateral documentation including traffic alerts, signage information, media release, good news stories, community and engagement plan, etc. Show less As a masters associate bridge engineer, I was responsible for:- Inspection of bridge components during the initial, construction, routine, and damage related inspections- Undertake research for the removal of Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) surface bonded to a steel deck- Undertake feasibility studies of existing and new techniques for the fatigue prevention of an orthotropic steel deck at Swansea Bridge - Inspection of the extent of damage of the Doctors Creek Culverts and trial concrete canvas to reduce water ingress into the precast concrete joints - Inspection of the heritage listed Clearance Town Bridge's baileys due to impact by an over sized vehicle and detail repair methods- Organisation and procurement of work crews, cost analysis, equipment, and material for routine bridge maintenance works Show less

      I am part of the external advisory committee (EAC) team at Charles Sturt University as a graduate member of the course. The EAC provides advice to the Engineering course which sits under the Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences. The advisory team meets on a quarterly basis to exchange issues and ideas to provide the course director with direction on improving the design and delivery of the course. As a graduate member, I would lead discussions surrounding the Civil Engineering Topic Tree, work placements, student feedback as well as industry future pipelines. Show less

      I am currently in the structures team in GHD as a structural engineer. Responsibilities to date includes: - Design of a reinforced concrete elevated walkway on RC pilecaps and piles. Factors to consider include movement due to thermal, creep and shrinkage, rail collision loads as per AS5100, interaction with geotechnical engineers and RC design. - Conduct shotcrete assessment of a major road tunnel in Sydney - Liaise with other teams across the Sydney region and other states and countries to deliver quality work to clients.       Technical Service Superhero - Award for Excellence Transport for NSW May 2023 Part of the RTS inspection teams where we received an award for undertaking emergency technical inspections of bridges and approaches and bridge-sized culverts for various councils across the Central West following devastating damage caused by flood events in November 2022. In total 60 sites were inspected, with internal Technical Services staff mobilising within 1-2 days of the request for assistance. Working with ROM Technical Solutions Disaster Recovery team, inspections by Pavement and… Show more Part of the RTS inspection teams where we received an award for undertaking emergency technical inspections of bridges and approaches and bridge-sized culverts for various councils across the Central West following devastating damage caused by flood events in November 2022. In total 60 sites were inspected, with internal Technical Services staff mobilising within 1-2 days of the request for assistance. Working with ROM Technical Solutions Disaster Recovery team, inspections by Pavement and Geotechnical teams complemented structural assessments by the Bridges and Structures teams, with some areas of potentially high risk identified, which allowed councils to make an informed decision about network restrictions.       Guest Speaker - 2022 Orange Christian School Years 5 - 12 Thanksgiving Service - Dec 2022 I was invited as a guest speaker to deliver a speech at the Orange Christian School thanksgiving service for 2022. I reflected my journey coming into Australia from Myanmar which is a military controlled government. My speech was well received by teachers, students and others including colleagues, Phill Donato (member of parliament for the Orange electorate) and even a lady working at a local Subway store who recognised me for my outstanding speech.
