      Feb 2023 - Mar 2023
      Community Law Centre Intern

At the newly opened Community Law Centre, I registered walk-in applicants, interviewed them and took notes during their consultations with the lawyers. After each session, I referred the applicant to relevant legal aid agencies, with areas of need ranging from estate planning, divorce, and neighbourhood disputes. In preparation for future community engagement and outreach, I researched the objectives and impact level of regional Social Service Agencies to narrow down those that align with the Centre's goals. I also set up some of the physical and virtual systems of the branch, decreasing waiting time during registration and potential language barriers.Concurrently, I worked virtually with the Family Justice Support Scheme, where I conducted means and merit eligibility tests and carried out interviews with applicants to gain a stronger understanding of their case. This allowed me to draft case summaries outlining the applicants' current positions to volunteer lawyers. Show less

I attended and took notes during disciplinary and court hearings, conducted both virtually and in court. I subsequently drafted relevant documents to each case under the guidance of my mentors. I also attended training sessions on International Arbitration and Mediation, ESG Activism and Financial Regulation. Show less
