The actual measurement campaigns required careful planning, coordination and negotiation in order to get different teams (natural scientists, art historians, restorers, conservators, technicians and students) together and on the same track, while keeping all parties happy. Once the actual campaign started, flexibility and technical insight were necessary to quickly adapt the plan and setup to the ever changing reality (and breakdowns). After the measurement campaigns the information gained by these measurements was often capable of answering many of the original questions and reduced the amount of (destructive) sampling. Show less
