      My primary tasks were to place items in bags, set them gently into carts, assist customers to their cars when requested, and retrieve carts from the parking lot. I worked in this position seasonally until I was promoted to cashier in May of 2015.

      My goal as cashier was to ensure that the customer's shopping experience finished on a positive note. I greeted customers and invited them to come into my checkout lane. I would proceed to scan each item that the customer intended to buy and send it down the lane to the courtesy clerk to bag in a careful but efficient manner. While doing this, I would engage in conversation with the customer in order to further show the level of care that I was exercising while ringing up his or her groceries. I would then total up the bill and assist the customer whenever he or she had a question regarding how to pay, such as when he or she was paying with a check or credit card. Finally, I would wish them a good day and invite them back to our store. My efficiency was noticed by my managers on several occasions, and my ring tender was within the top 25 cashiers of our store's district. Show less

      In my current role, I handle commercial casualty claims for Great American Insurance Group’s AgriBusiness division, which insures commercial farms and agricultural-related businesses. I am responsible for contacting policyholders in a timely manner, thoroughly investigating coverage, liability, and damages, and ensuring that all claim resolutions are handled as smoothly as possible. Types of policies I work with regularly include commercial auto, CGL, farm liability, and commercial umbrella. Should litigation ensue from a claim, I work closely with our senior claim technical director to ensure that deadlines are met, documentation is secured, and a proper litigation strategy is developed. I also provide our underwriting team and agents with updates on claims, which assists them in evaluating the risks they take on when deciding to renew customers and write new business. Show less
