  This team researched exiting methods and ongoing studies that are aimed at detecting seizures a meaningful amount of time before onset. I contributed to the research of existing literature and discuss findings with the team. The ultimate goal would be to identify any fundamental indicators of a seizure and engineer a wearable device that would continuously monitor for these conditions.

  Starlight Cardiovascular has set out to develop uniquely engineered devices to address a lack of treatment options for babies born with congenital heart defects. In my role I aided in the development of cardiovascular device prototypes and developed new testing systems to characterize and assess their performance. During this experience I gained valuable exposure and a first hand appreciation for much of the complex engineering, business, and legal work that goes into bringing a medical device to market.
