  As an academic tutor to a wide range of age-group, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the idea that knowledge is actively built by the learner through meaningful experiences, it promotes an environment where students are not passive recipients of information but active participants in their learning. As an educator, I see my role as a facilitator who guides students in constructing their understanding of the world. This means encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-directed inquiry. I believe I am a teacher with a social constructivist philosophy who encourages students to collectively establish classroom rules and solve conflicts together and not adhere to authoritarian rules. From the moment I enter my tutor room, I have to ensure a safe and supportive environment for my students to feel physically and emotionally secure. My students must feel a sense of belonging and develop self-esteem for them to become well-rounded individuals. I strive to foster a sense of community and trust, where students are not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. Assessments would be given thus, as opportunities for growth rather than mere evaluations, providing constructive feedback that guides students toward improvement. Not to forget, technology has become an integral part of our lives in the 21st century, and its thoughtful integration can greatly enhance the learning experience. I embrace technology as a powerful tool to engage students, foster creativity, and facilitate access to information. It allows for interactive simulations, virtual field trips, collaborative projects, and personalized learning paths. However, I also recognize the importance of balancing technology with face-to-face interactions, ensuring that it remains a means to an educational end rather than an end in itself.As a holistic teacher, I instill a love for learning and self-directed inquiry. I model lifelong learning by continually updating my own knowledge and skills. Show less

  Teaching Spanish has been my fervor ever since I learnt the language. The students also range in age, from International schools to those adults who simply have a passion to learn Español. This has certainly added a spark in my quest for teaching.
