  I am the Study Manager for the Mine Engineering department of Cementation. I help create an enabling environment for our team of engineers and draughtsmen to conduct our work. Our focus is on mine infrastructure design, particularly shaft sinking, development, headgears, shaft hoisting systems, raiseboring, civils, SMPP and electrical services. We conduct studies from concept level, trade offs, feasibility level and through to detail design with support for fabrication and execution and commissioning of the works.My role is primarily technical, with significant elements of project management, stakeholder engagement, resourcing, managing budgets and commercial aspects. Show less Three years spent on site building and commissioning projects and 12 years in the design office designing and project managing those designs. These include numerous dewatering and ventilation system designs and team involvement in many headgears and loading systems for hoisting men, materials and rock, among very many other activities.Completed the PMP qualification in 2015. Renewal for a third cycle complete.Involved in energy efficiency and carbon footprinting projects.Spent a year maintaining the cutter head and hyperbaric works on a TBM (Gautrain Rosebank South).Candidate PR.Eng (certification in progress).
