  I’m working in the Methodology team, focusing on methodology development and assumption setting. This relates to the pricing, valuation, and risk quantification of the assets and liabilities on Aegon NL's balance sheet. I’m working on the development and maintenance of the Partial Internal Model of Aegon Nederland. This requires deep-level technical analyses where I focus both on the modelling of mortgages as well as on the illiquid investments on Aegon’s balance sheet. I have re-developed the mortgage spread risk methodology. This risk component focuses on changes in the spread component of mortgage discount rates, causing adjustments in the value of Aegon’s mortgage book. Furthermore, I have created an internal rating methodology to rate issuers of (unrated) private debt, and worked on the inclusion of these assets for Solvency II purposes. In my role I have been able to develop strong modelling skills, predominantly in R. Given the complexity of the models, this role allows me to clearly communicate complex material.
