In this highly challenging and service focused role, I was responsible for three delivery offices; including 74 staff and 25 vehicles. My key achievements include: - Awarded the 'Best Performing Manager' in the Thames Valley Area in 2011. - The only office in the area to achieve their year on year budget. - Achieved the highest customer satisfaction results within the area. Employee satisfaction also improved year on year (based on a yearly questionnaire for all employees). - Chosen to trail a new accident reduction program. This included awareness training, regular meetings, mentoring and investigating results. Overall, this program lead to a 30% reduction in accident related incidents. This was eventually rolled out to all offices in the area (amounting to around 150 offices). Show less During my time at Watford Mail Center, I lead 6 managers and 101 staff. My key achievements and responsibilities included: · Reduced the headcount from 101 to 80 staff through more cost effective management; making sure that employees were used effectively and to their full potential. · Facilitating major change within my team regarding working practices. This involved working closely with Human Resources to ensure that the change was managed sensitively and professionally as well as ensuring that service was not disrupted. · Significantly reduced customer complaints by promoting best practices to all staff members. · Since my appointment, the efficiency at Watford delivery office improved year on year.- Effectively and efficiently followed the yearly budget; the office was consistently under-spent without diminishing our service. My primary duties involve overseeing all the activities in the organisation at the Stewartby Depot and beyond. I presently have operatives working in Southampton, Essex and Bedford. I work within a varied and highly pressurised workplace; I plan all day to day running of anextremely busy industrial services office. I personally manage all workplace risk assessments; I am very capable with regards to all Health and Safety procedures of both my site and customers premises. All safe systems of work are personally written by me before any work commences. I work closely with the Environmental Agency and Emergency Services on an emergency response service which deals with hazardous spillages and road traffic accidents.I achieve all objectives by effectively and efficiently distributing staff members and equipment. In addition, I run a fleet of tankers, vans and road sweeper which includes all maintenance and compliance issues. I have a clear understanding of the goals of my present organisation and have developed a clear vision of exactly how operations will help achieve them. This part of the job also involves translating these KPIs into implications for the operation's performance, objectives, quality, speed, dependability, flexibility and cost. Show less
