  As a continuity of my Ph.D., I have a research project funded by German Research Foundation (DFG). I am doing research about Volunteered Geographic Information and spatial data classification granularity. We are looking to influence of human geographic cognition on geographic data classification. In VGI, ordinary citizens are the main source of information, based on their local experience. My research aims to utilize the conflict among various perspectives to guarantee the data and to foster meaningful interpretation. In addition to research, I advise and co-supervise computer science students during graduation projects or thesis writing. Show less I had a scholarship from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to resume my postgraduate studies at a German University. Doing my Ph.D. research, I have a passion for understanding Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI). In particular, I was concerning with the quality of VGI from data classification perspectives. I have a curiosity about VGI as a potential source of geographic maps. How people recognize and perceive and hence classify geographic features? I proposed a machine learning based approach to tackle the problem. I developed a guided recommendation system to aid contributes in providing the most proper classification for a given object. I apply and utilize the OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, as an example, to show the feasibility of the proposed approach. Show less
