    • Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP

      Jan 2018 - Jan 2020
Attorney- Tax, Corporate, and Economic Development Law

My practice focused on two primary areas: economic development and tax law. I was fortunate to work with excellent teams to help our clients navigate the various tax and development incentives laws in Alabama and other states. My economic development work focused on representing companies as they relocated or expanded their facilities. Our team helped companies by negotiating incentive packages with state and local authorities that were tailored to the needs of a particular project. These incentive packages were designed to provide a “win-win” for the company, its workforce, and the local community. My tax background enabled me to help companies maximize their after-tax return on investment for relocation or expansion projects, which paved the way for additional growth and expansion.I enjoyed following developments in both the tax and economic development worlds and I developed a passion for discovering creative strategies to maximize the available tax and non-tax incentives for projects. In this role, I developed a niche practice of providing advice regarding projects located in Opportunity Zones throughout the country. I consulted with real estate developers, municipal leaders, venture capitalists, alternative investment managers, accountants, and entrepreneurs to help them understand and take advantage of the OZ incentives. I also worked with companies to minimize their tax liabilities through effective and innovative tax planning, and when necessary, through representation in federal, state, and local tax disputes. Jan 2021 - now
      Tax Attorney and Founder

Robbins Law helps businesses and business owners (whether old-timers or new founders) as they navigate the often confusing world of tax and corporate law. We have found that there is a large need by businesses for sophisticated legal advice that may not require the resources (and expense) of a large full-service law firm. Robbins Law meets that need by providing tailored legal advice to navigate business and tax issues while also knowing when we need to bring in additional subject matter expertise. We also serve as an "outside general counsel" for a number of businesses, helping them to manage their ongoing legal needs. Please contact me to see if we would be a good fit for your business and tax law needs! Show less
