Additionally, in the beginning of the employment I took the task of teaching the new summer workers the processes and customs at the plant.

  In a factory for production of insulated pipes, I measured and tested the products and chemicals to ensure that they met the established industry and company standards. During the summer I also wrote an guide for future quality control summer workers on my own initiative. I also got familiar with LEAN and 5S philosophies and working methods.

  Research Assistant

  Master’s thesis: The work included tests and evaluations of a number of potential new measurement methods. One target was to gain more information about the conditions in the tuyere-raceway system of the SSAB Raahe blast furnaces. Another target was to update and further develop an existing tool for simulation of the tuyere-raceway system, developed in an earlier cooperation between Åbo Akademi and Ruukki.

  I’m an owner of power plant auxiliary products. My work includes developing the products by implementing strategic initiatives and targets to secure business needs. Managing the product portfolio is as well part of my responsibility. It involves maintaining the technology, secure needed technical support to the sales and the delivery project teams. The work is done in cooperation with system experts and other product teams. Furthermore, customer focus is key in my role, to future proof products with quality, cost and timeliness accountability.
