      Research Assistant

As a Research Assistant, I am responsible for working closely with the inpatient psychiatrist, nurse practitioners, and other staff to identify eligible participants for the Army STARRS research being conducted at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg, NC. Upon successful recruitment of a patient, coordination of several data collection activities ensues. A detailed, structured interview is conducted, along with administering surveys and coordinating a blood draw. When outside participants are provided, time management becomes key in order to coordinate meeting times to administer data collection, all while balancing the inpatient load as well. Shipping of collected data, managing inventory, and weekly reconciliation of local funds offered to participants upon completion of study activities is also apart of the responsibilities of a research assistant. Weekly supervision and teleconference calls are also important responsibilities in order to keep study staff abreast of events, updates, and developments at the Fort Bragg, NC site. Show less
