  I am always striving to make a difference in this world. I worked as a reporter for the Auburn Journal for four years, where I wrote several award-winning stories on different social issues. This included a two-month investigative series documenting Auburn’s homelessness population, their needs, and local services that were or were not available to them. I received recognition from the California Hunger Commission, California State Legislature, U.S. Congress, California Newspaper Association, American Heart Association, Brehmn Communications and other government bodies for articles produced for the Journal -- which spurred development for a homeless shelter.I also covered health, education, recreation, a myriad of social issues and the Auburn City Council.   I write legislative reports, video scripts, online articles featuring a member of each disadvantaged group, and send Constant Contact emails to Caltrans' Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to notify them of services available to them. I also sent SurveyMonkey questionnaires to them to find out what would be most useful to them, and then collaborate in diverse work groups to put those suggestions into action. At Caltrans Division of Public Affairs, I was the Caltrans Director's sole speechwriter from 2009 to 2019. I served as editor of CT News, using Photoshop and Dreamweaver to build pages with stories I wrote and collected before making edits and publishing online. I developed new flash videos, news releases, annual reports, PowerPoint presentations, Mile Marker performance report articles, safety campaigns and scheduled social media posts using Hootsuite.
