  I coordinated all aspects of the youth technology and college preparation program. I organized recruitment, orientation, the mentorship program, enrichment workshops, as well as graduation. I also supervised the technology instructor, monitored student attendance and performance and met with parents/care takers. Finally, I presided over the program board, made up of members of the local community, as well as program sponsors and investors.

  I fulfilled various positions at once while working at the Lotus Academy. Not only did I support some of the administrative and professional development tasks of the Director, I also coordinated cultural and fundraising events for the school and community at large. I additionally taught Kiswahili, Computer Science and the Lotus Way to students from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

I designed the curriculum borrowing from the StarTalk Summer Language program as well as my own ideas to ensure that the students learned both about the language and culture in an interactive and experiential manner.

Oversaw the development of a 5 year strategic plan, a baseline study on girls in Zanzibar and the first ever general elections to revive the leadership of the organization.
