    • The Mill House Restaurant

      Apr 2016 - May 2017
      Head Waiter

I worked as a waiter in my local restaurant The Mill House for a little over a year, I mainly worked the weekend shift along with two other staff and a chief. The restaurant was consistently busy which meant I was working in a fast functioning, high pressure environment, this allowed me to gain a variety of skill sets such as developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others to reach business goals, consistently providing professional, friendly, engaging service and delivering exceptional service by greeting and serving customers in a timely, friendly manner. • Centra

      Jul 2016 - Sept 2020
      Sales Assistant

After finishing my Leaving Certificate I began to work in my local Centra store during the summer, throughout my four years in college I worked two evening shifts along with weekend work. When I had breaks from college such as Christmas, Winter and Summer breaks I was placed as full time for each of the four years. This workplace allowed me to grow personally and professionally, I became more involved within my local community as well as gaining a great amount of customer service etiquette. Some tasks I performed while working within this workplace were refilling and rotating items on shelves to maintain well-stocked inventory, working with cash and safe and the changing of tills, offering product samples, answering questions and helping customers find items and taking the responsibility to open and close the store. Jan 2019 - May 2019
      Social Care Worker (Placement Student)

On my first set of placement I was placed within Brother of Charity services in Belmont Park. This placement lasted for five months which allowed me to shadow/work with many different activities and within many different areas. Throughout this placement I gained a great amount of knowledge and learning while also being able to apply my learning from college, I assisted with advocacy groups, traveled along to activities such as swimming, bochee or bowling and observing the enjoyment from the people we support while ensuring the people we support needs, wants and concerns are fulfilled to the best of our ability in a safe and secure manner. • GOSHH Ireland

      Sept 2019 - Jan 2020
      Social Care Worker (Placement Student)

GOSHH was the organisation I attended on my second set of placement, I chose GOSHH as it was a completely different sector from my previous placement and I felt as though I had very little knowledge on how GOSHH worked within the Social Care sector. My placement lasted a little over five months and challenged me with different work within different sectors, within GOSHH I was able to support clients with specific needs like Gender Recognition, information on sexual health or through work based around gender, orientation and rapid testing along with creating an open, non-discriminatory atmosphere while ensuring practices such as confidentiality and active listening were very present. Some of the tasks I was involved in within GOSHH was educating clients through work on reception, providing the correct information for clients when linking with other services and ensuring correct information was documented when bookings occur, recording statistics based around Gender, Orientation and type of support used with in the service by clients to ensure further funding all the while upskilling and using my learning to enhance my practice.
