      As founder, owner, and operator of two businesses (kautky landscaping - landscape maintenance and construction arm, RED MTN - retail and sales arm), he was responsible for every aspect of the development, implementation, and execution of the day-to-day operations and business planning of both kautzky landscaping and RED MTN. He developed and managed both retail staff and field crews in the landscape maintenance and irrigation arenas, handling multiple tasks ranging from scheduling, logistics, inventory management, and facility maintenance; to accounting, marketing, and human resources. In early 2010, he sold both businesses and transitioned previous experiences and professinal networks into a position in the area of commercial construction project management, supporting contract deliverables, equipment procurement, and project logistics for a local HVAC construction company on projects throughout the Northwest and Alaska. Show less Returned to PNNL in May of 2010 as Team Manger - EED Communications, and was promoted to Group Manager - EED Communications for PNNL's Energy and Environment Directorate in January 2012. As Group Manager, worked closely with the EED Associate Laboratory Director and the broader management team to bring strategic focus to setting and achieving the directorate’s internal and external communications objectives. Additionally, managed a team of 15 staff who served the directorate’s diverse program- project- and marketing-related communications needs.
