      Since 2010, In the Medical Intensive Care Unit, I have been fortunate enough to care for the Pulmonary Hypertensive (PH) Patient population, including Liver, Kidney Disease and the general intensive care patient population with sepsis and other infections associated with skin, body fluids and pulmonary disorders etc. Acute to Chronic stages, of Lung, Liver and Kidney disease requiring bridge to transplant, or "worst case scenarios" bridge to death, ensuring comfort measures during care and as a last resort. Other duties include; assist with arterial and central line placement, management of ventilated patients, Initiating and monitoring high risk medications, Norepinephrine (Levophed), Dobutamine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Propofol, Dopamine, Milrinone, Cardizem, Morpine, Fentanyl, Versed, etc, also, Flolan and Remodulin for patients with PH. Educate patients and their family members on life saving devices and as well as medications, procedures and optimal level of health promotion measures. Manage as a team leader and precept/orient new staff to the nursing care unit and responsibilities in caring and managing critically ill patients and their families. In the past have worked with Left Ventricular heart devices. Heart Mate I and II. Enjoyed Working with the LVAD patient population. Held "four hour" education session classes weekly for patients and their families suffering from disorders affecting the heart.In May, 2015 participated in a Research Project, for Dr. Mendez and Dr. Buick, which was on Data Collection that focused on Best quality care between patients, their families and Physician communication styles at Henry Ford Hospital. And from that moment on, I trusted her words of encouragement. Hanan demonstrated medical and clinical skill that I'm sure went beyond her "Nurse" title. I saw her make judgment calls and instant decisions.In the middle of a very emotional struggle for us, Hanan was an anchor of security. I'm not sure why. How do you measure the intangibles of compassion, warmth and, I guess, a form of love? I'm sure I'll never know all of what was done, because Hanan seemed to meet needs I didn't even know we had. Every family member who went into my husband's room came out saying, "WOW! That nurse is awesome!" When Hanan was not assigned to us, we knew she was still there; helping the other nurse, offering encouragement and caring.Hanan was always attentive, warm, and conscientious.
