  Project Engineer

  As the Project Coordinator for the Maricopa Stanfield Irrigation and Drainage District, I managed the district projects in addition to outside project work and design. Responsibilities included: coordinating with developers, the United States Bureau of Reclamation, county flood control districts, individual farmers, business owners, and residents. As a GCE staff engineer I obtained experience in agricultural engineering, conveyance design, drainage design and analysis. Responsibilities included preparing proposals, grant applications, project cost estimation, and plan preparation and plan review. Additionally I worked on projects that included lot layouts, grading and drainage, irrigation design, hydraulic structure design, flow measurement, and HEC-RAS steady flow modeling. Show less

  Rubicon Water

  Water Resource Engineer

  As part of the Total Canal Control (TCC) team in Melbourne, Australia I participated in Rubicon’s design, manufacturing and implementation of irrigation and water management hardware and software. Duties included: collaborating and working with control engineers to customize sophisticated SCADA systems for large irrigation districts, training irrigation managers on use of SCADA, educating clients on the best water management practices, data collection, analysis, and plan review. I gained further project management and customer service skills while strengthening my exposure and understanding of trends in global water conservation policies. Upon my return to southern California I worked directly with clients in the western United States to implement and manage irrigation and water management technology. Responsibilities included sales and market development, liaison with the Australia based team, preparations of operational strategy documents, civil engineering review and guidance regarding water control and open canal hydraulics and customer support. Additionally, I organized and conducted group and one-on-one training sessions for clients and new Rubicon staff. Show less

  City of Long Beach

  While a CPC for the City of Long Beach I served as PM/CM for numerous CIP projects including the new Long Beach Civic Center project. The $520 million, design-build-finance-operate-maintain civic center replaced the old City Hall with LEED certified offices for the Port of Long Beach, a new Main Library, a new Lincoln park and a future private development. I am solution-oriented and love complex projects with numerous stakeholders, working to create consensus and to keep things moving forward. Along with my enthusiasm for civil engineering, project management and construction management, I have a particular interest in public spaces, water conservation, sustainability, landscape design and bicycle advocacy. I am also a certified yoga instructor and during my time with the CLB founded Lunch Break Yoga in Promenade Square park, offering a free and supportive environment to practice wellness in downtown Long Beach. Completed projects for the CLB include: • Facilities Modernization Projects for the Long Beach Fire Department• Chittick Field, sports park and storm water detention facility, for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine• Public Art Installations for the former Long Beach Redevelopment Agency• Renovations and Tenant Improvements for City of Long Beach Police Department and Airport.
