Additional engineering duties included collaboration and project management of signal construction, signal timing, concrete design, detours and streetlighting for each project. Implementations included cycletracks, bike lanes, complete streets, sharrows, off-street pathways, traffic calming and other bicycle amenities.• Collaborated, engaged and communicated with politicians, city planners, engineers, technicians, surveyors, consultants, contractors and the general public.• Applied all pertinent legislation (including the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and City of Calgary Bylaws) and engineering guidelines (including the MUTCDC, TAC Geometric Design Guide, TAC Bikeway Design Guide, NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide and numerous other engineering and planning documents).• Shared lessons learned with the industry at several local, provincial and national conferences (as a speaker), during field tours and through a TAC published paper. • Completed two six-month secondments with both the ROADS Development and Projects Group (D&P) and the ROADS Pavement Design Group, overseeing concrete and pavement design and inspections throughout the city.       • Reviewed and approved hundreds of roadmarking and signage work orders within the City of Calgary, including: interchanges, traffic safety studies, operational improvements, school sites, roundabouts, cycling and pedestrian facilities, major transit upgrades, surface overlay and parking. Projects were completed on transportation corridors of all classifications (Skeletal, Arterial, Collector, Residential). • Applied detailed knowledge of all relevant engineering design standards (MUTCDC, TAC Geometric Design Guide, etc) and legislation (Alberta Traffic Safety Act and Calgary bylaws).• Acted as a liaison for Traffic Engineering; responsible for coordinating circulation comments for new and retrofit developments throughout Calgary. Collaborated with Transportation Development Services (TDS) to ensure developments were in alignment with land use bylaws, traffic engineering standards and best practices. Reviews included Pre-Applications, Development Permits, Area Structure Plans, Outline Plans, Construction Drawings, etc.• Project management for all roadmarking, signage and circulations required extensive and careful collaboration with many internal and external stakeholders. Internal groups included ROADS Traffic Engineering (Traffic Signal Construction, Traffic Signal timings, Traffic Safety, Street Lighting, Detours and Traffic Field Operations), ROADS Development & Projects (D&P), ROADS Paving, Transportation Infrastructure (TI), Calgary Transit, Liveable Streets, etc. External stakeholders included the Calgary Airport Authority, developers, consultants, contractors and extensive engagement with the general public.
