The program aims to educate me on the principles required to be a great engineering manager as well as all of the intricacies of Brooks Instrument.• Learned and utilized Power BI to create 3 SQDIP dashboards utilizing real-time SQL data for understanding various production metrics, organizing tasks, and predicting stand failure.• Developed a Power BI tool to analyze over 200 million lines of SQL to provide capacity models, real-time WIP and rework data, and a filterable table of important production metrics by device serial number.• Leveraged Octave to analyze the SQL data of production's digital calibration platforms (DCPs) to gage reliability, repeatability, yield, throughput, and idle time across a variety of product mixes in an effort to determine a "best practices" operating practice.• Increased DCP throughput by 13% with the introduction of pressure-based pump down versus existing time-based pump down.• Modeled and built both a prototype and multiple production stands for pressure transducer calibration, taking into consideration vibration, throughput, and ergonomics.• Designed, iterated, and tested various manufacturing aids for valve assembly with a goal of decreasing both external Helium leak paths and internal leak-by.• Validated a new design for performing gross-leak checks on mass flow controllers (MFCs) that optimized the usage of Helium during a global shortage.• Devised a fishbone diagram for the investigation of Helium leak surges which allowed for an accelerated means of root-cause identification.• Automated a high accuracy valve cartridge lapping process to improve flatness and operator ergonomics.• Wrote an excel macro to consolidate thousands of monthly scrap tickets into a half dozen, saving paper and signature time without losing the insights and granularity of the process.
