At the Hobart and William Smith Abroad Office I am working as a Programming Assistant specializing as the Global Ambassador Coordinator and the Video Production Coordinator. Alongside clerical and administrative tasks within the office, I perform duties to promote international education and to engage with the campus. In my role as the Global Ambassador Coordinator I am in charge of organizing the Center for Global Education (CGE) Global Ambassador program consisting of 10 returned abroad and international students who volunteer with our office. I also host events & panels with the student ambassadors to promote the CGE, build enthusiasm toward the study abroad opportunities, and serve as a resource for students. Additionally, as Video Production Coordinator I film and create videos to promote the CGE. This includes photographing and filming CGE programming and events, as well as designing informative materials for students in the pre and post study abroad phases. I am also in charge of the CGE abroad podcast, where I will conduct, edit, and publish interviews with students who have used the opportunities provided by the CGE to traveled abroad. Show less As a Physics Teaching Fellow, I was nominated by the department to facilitate student learning in physics through individual and group academic support. I hold group-oriented evening office hours to offer from Sunday through Thursday. During my sessions, I model inquiry-based learning, promote critical thinking, and challenge students through guided discussions. I collaborate with department liaisons to best prepare students for assignments, provide feedback, and develop study strategies. Biweekly I attend meetings to maintain communication with the Center for Teaching and Learning and evaluate my position over the semester. Show less

Blocker ’53 Endowed Fund provides generous support to select students pursuing study abroad opportunities through one of the Hobart and William Smiths’ study abroad programs in Germany, enabling “Blocker Fellows” to passionately experience German culture and society. I received this award in the spring of 2022 when I prepared to study abroad at the University of Leipzig in Germany for my Spring 2023 semester. I was named a Julius G. Blocker ‘53 Fellow based on my excellence in my academic record and the recommendation of the faculty. As a Blocker Fellow I maintained a blog while abroad that documents my encounters with German culture. Through this blog I provided updates on my cultural project, which was completed upon my return to campus. My project focused on my interactions with German cuisine, be that in unique German dishes or special German eating colloquiums. This project was designed to illustrate my journey in Germany and what I learned about the country, its people and culture, and myself. Upon my return to campus in Fall 2023 I created a poster and presented my project during the Blocker Showcase event to share my cultural exchange. Show less
