  Flight Systems Engineer

  As a Flight Systems Engineer at Monash HPR, I was involved in the development and optimisation of cutting-edge electrical and mechanical systems for high-powered rockets. My work spanned from hands-on prototyping and testing recovery and deployment mechanisms, all aimed at ensuring the reliability and success of our rocket launches in competitive environments. One of the pinnacle moments was representing Monash HPR at Spaceport America 2022.• Developing, prototyping and simulating new electrical and mechanical deployment systems for upcoming team rocket projects.• Ensuring reliability with development testing and optimising recovery mechanisms for the various rockets.• Utilising Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Creo and SolidWorks plus electronics and circuitry design to improve the design and performance of the rocket whilst also undertaking research and development for new features such as, FARGS.• PCB design and construction plus deployment testing for various mechanisms.• Writing documentation and reports on latest systems and events as well as assisting with flight day operations and logistics.
