      Receive and redirect material or shipments that are sent to organizations within the AMEDDC&S. Identifies the need for and makes recommendations for the local purchase of items. Process DD Form 1149 for FedEx shipments requested by customers. Receive and process all UPS/FedEx supply deliveries for the customers. Serves as the assistant vehicle control officer, arranging for the pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and turn-in of vehicles. Advise and assist the G-4 Readiness Chief and staff members on all matters pertaining to motor vehicle management and maintenance. Maintains close coordination with supporting military installation to insure compliance with applicable agreements and directives. Ensures compliance with established maintenance schedules. Plans for vehicle inspections and negotiates agreements with local garages for vehicle inspection to insure proper compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to maintenance and mileage books. Compiles and prepares reports concerning motor vehicle maintenance, utilization, repairs, accidents, etc. Checks vehicles for gas usage and malfunctions; planning and directing the assignment/reassignment of vehicles for balanced usage; prepares and/or assists in the preparation accident reports; identifies safety problems and corrective actions; maintains log books; and prepares monthly vehicle reports. Sets up equipment and associated materials and arranges for the availability and set up of flags for ceremonies and other Academy of Health Sciences commitments in the Academy, local hotels and offices as directed . Also responsible for the tear down and accountability of all equipment and materials at all flag ceremonies. Show less
