  I graduated in 1984 with a BA (Hons) in Town & Country Planning from Liverpool Polytechnic & then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Town & Country Planning in 1986 at UWIST. I am a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) as well as an active member of ATCM WalesSince 1986 I have worked in an economic regeneration role in various local authorities in South Wales primarily involved in regenerating town centresI was appointed Town Centre Coordinator in 2001 and am responsible for strategic coordination across the eight designated towns in Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council namely Pontypridd, Aberdare, Mountain Ash, Porth , Tonypandy, Treorchy, Ferndale & Llantrisant. I have delivered a number of initiatives for the town centre partnerships in the County Borough which include a programme of events across all 8 town centres, installed Footfall Counters in the main centres, commissioned regeneration strategies to secure EU & Welsh Government funding, town centre promotional material, business mentoring programmes, signage initiatives, Action Plan approach to Town Centre Management, websites for town centres, retail toolkit and introduced weekly street markets.
