The bureau is a private agency that provides consultancy and research services to support the newly emerging entrepreneurship sector in Saudi Arabia. Conducting research for governmental agents is part of the bureau's services. Within the time I spent in the bureau, we were involved in two projects: nutritional and developmental. The first project was to research a suitable diabetic diet that could be favoured by Saudi society. The second project was to develop a new and profitable training system to be implemented into a Saudi university. I am still partially involved in the development of these ongoing projects. PhD Project Abstract:Self-control refers to our ability to override natural and automatic responses toward achieving a predetermined purpose. It was proposed that self-control is a limited resource, such that exercising self-control in one task means that individuals are less able to apply self-control in a subsequent task. However, this hypothesis has been challenged by research showing that the ability to apply self-control is affected by peoples’ beliefs about their ability to apply self-control. Our study’s aim is to examine what specific brain regions are involved in self-control, in the context of limited resources theory. The results could be translated to help understanding conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Keywords: Social Neuroscience, Self-Control, Implicit Theories, Social Psychology, Self-Beliefs and Neurophysiology Show less For groups of students from different higher education levels and backgrounds, the neuroanatomy dissection course is provided to equip them with the basic knowledge of human brain structure and function within practical dissecting sessions. As a demonstrator, I take the responsibility of a different group on each week of the course. We start from the general and the vascular anatomy of the human brain, then passing through the spinal cord, brain stem, the ventricular system and ending with the deep structures of the cerebrum.
