Young Writers Programme is a year-long writing programme in which 40 students from all over Malaysia are selected to contribute to Stuff@school as writers. Stuff@school is an English pullout by Star Publications (M) Berhad dedicated to improving English proficiency, while inculcating interest in current affairs among students. Contents range from feature articles and short stories by young writers to literature exercises written by experienced school teachers. I was selected as one of the youth journalists to write for the pullout for a year.• Wrote articles and stories based on assigned themes that were given on a monthly basis• Creative production in the form of original photos to accompany written articles• Learned to cope with pressing deadlines ontop of managing school work• Conducted interviews with schoolmates and teachers• Liaised with teachers and the school's English Language Society to promote the pullout among students• Communicated with other fellow writers through means of social media in times of collaborations and group projects Show less
