  Midwives know that educating expectant couples is critical for setting parents on the course to safe and confident parenthood. That's why they hired Jan to teach their expectant mothers and fathers about breastfeeding and the care of the newborn. Jan focuses on understanding newborn behavior to enhance initiation and continued breastfeeding and how reading a baby's signs of overstimulation and newborn states facilitates the developing parent-child relationship.
