  My role as Group Financial Manager (GFM) required me to provide direct and extensive support to the Group CFO in the management of all financial procedures for the Group operations from our remote Management Services offices located in Johannesburg.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Financial Managers and financial staff of all operating companies within the Group situated in Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique and Rwanda reported directly to me.• The complex Group structure which includes Holding Companies registered in Mauritius allowed for the opportunity to work with Mauritian Company Secretaries on a weekly basis as well as Big Four Auditors in Mauritius.• The Ultimate Holding Company was Tax registered in the United Kingdom and I worked with our UK lawyers, Audit Partners and Company Secretaries to ensure full HMRC compliance• Responsible for overseeing the Monthly Management group reporting process. • Group year-end reporting responsibilities included the following:o Preparing the Group Consolidation as well as Annual Consolidated financialstatements for the Group Holding companieso Preparing Company financial statement for 6 subsidiary Companies over three countrieso Monitoring the year end external audit for all companies in the Group whereby I worked closely with the auditors and financial managers in Uganda and Tanzania. At the time of the 2015 year end we did not have a financial manager in Rwanda and I was in charge of reporting and the audit of Rwandao I was the sole point of contact for the audits of our Mauritian companies in the group as well as the required UK audit for our Ultimate Holding Company that was tax registered in the UK.o Worked closely with all audit staff which at one stage consisted of a team of 11 with myself and one financial accountant being the only points of contacts.
