DTTP is part of the postgraduate program that students in specific faculties to work with surrounding local communities ("Woreda" as known in Ethiopia) within the outskirts of the University, and engage in identifying their socio-health challenges, jointly identify solutions, and develop contextual and relevant plans to make a difference in those societies. Ronald played a quite demanding role in leading the coordination and facilitation of that compulsory module of the program whereby students from Master of Science programs in Health Monitoring and Evaluation and Medical Sociology were involved. Parts of the milestones and successes noted were the development of a proposal funded by the University after making a presentation to a panel of intellectuals and other colleagues about 150.       Ronald was an administrator for the annual work plans, implementation, and reporting at the Zonal Health Resource Centre - South West Highlands. The focus of the programming was basically on the provision of capacity building to Regional Health Management Teams (Mbeya, Rukwa and Katavi regions) and District Council Health Management Teams (Mbeya City, Mbeya District, Rungwe, Mbarali, Ileje, Kyela, Chunya, Nkasi, Sumbawanga, Mpanda, and Mlele). Apart from the health management teams, the health training institutions were also covered within the zone (Assistant Medical Officers College, Dental Assistants Training School, School of Operating Theatre Nurses, Tukuyu Nursing School, Mpanda Clinical Officers Training College, and St. Bhakita Nursing School). Specifically covered capacity building areas were Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management Cascade (IMC), Strengthening Health Management (SHM) and Planning and Reporting (PlanRep2 - Macro and Meso).As a Monitoring and Evaluation Lead; Ronald in collaboration with the team accomplished a) development of an M&E system for a National Expansion of Tanzania Essential Health Intervention Package Tools and Strategies(IMCI, IMC, SHM, PlanRep2); b)Operational oversight, chairing of working groups, and field implementation and supervision; c) Integrated information flow (data collection, feedback, and analysis) with program activities; d) Led multiple consultations with Regional Health Management Teams, Council Health Management Teams, other government bodies, NGOs stakeholders and donors; e) Oversaw all aspects of M&E for annual integrated health intervention, including gender focus in indicator definitions and information use, involving all key stakeholders; and f) Engaged in capacity building for government, community-based organizations and project staff.
