This gain was obtained by remedial work, re-completion work, drilling infill wells, and pilot gas injection/cycling project. Additional infill locations have been recommended and are in process of being developed.Analyzed by segment reservoir simulation, designed and implemented pilot gas injection/cycling pilot project. Pilot was successful in meeting its objectives. Completed a comprehensive reservoir characterization project that included re-determination of original oil in place for the 31S C/D Reservoirs. The following seven internal reports were generated: Production History Review, Pressure History Review, Special Core Analysis, Transient Well Test Data Review, Production Log Data Review, and Reservoir Engineering Report.   Provide reservoir engineering consulting services to various companies in southern California such as Chevron, Texaco, Oxy, Stocker, Nuevo, and Plains Exploration in San Joaquin Basin, offshore, and Los Angeles Basin.Completed full field simulation on a complex, laminated, turbidite reservoir with ~300 wells (Stevens sandstone in Miocene Monterey formation) for Oxy Elk Hills. Showed a way to increase production by 10,000 BOPD. AFEs based on this work was generated and implemented with addition of reserves.Evaluate optimal well spacing by segment simulation for both vertical and horizontal wells in the Antelope Formation, San Joaquin Basin for new field development for Nuevo Energy Company. Used core, log, pressure, and production data from Monument Junction Field. Resulted in significant savings for further development of Antelope Formation. Show less

Prepared and obtained approval for three AFEs for 13 Well Waterflood Pilot, 11 Well Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP) Pilot, and Foam-Gas Pilot. This involved core & fluid analysis, single well chemical tracer testing, and numerical simulation. Pilots were successfully implemented.Reservoir management, production surveillance, infill candidate review, gas injection optimization, and production improvement in ESOZ Reservoir, Elk Hills Field, CA. This ~800 wells, 23,000 BOPD, 1.3 billion barrel OOIP reservoir is under gas injection pressure enhanced gravity drainage. Help support an aggressive activity level: drill 65 to 100 wells a year, 75-100 workovers/year, monitoring 35 gas injectors in a quickly moving integrated team environment. Team effort took production from 19,000 BOPD in 2002 to 24,000 in 2004.Set up surveillance of ~28 fault blocks, ~30 pressure observation wells. Provide justification for 5 additional gas injectors, Drill 30 well sidetracks of existing gas injectors for profile control in 2003. Assist in EOR/IOR development / evaluation. Show less
