She has had many immunization related roles over the last 17 years, including immunizer, immunization clinic coordinator, preceptor, advocate, and professor. The role she is most proud of is providing training and opportunities for her students to learn and adapt to the vaccination needs of the community. As the Director of experiential education, she has been able to work with outside preceptors to develop vaccination clinics. Many of these clinics were longitudinal in nature during flu season and the COVID-19 pandemic. She provided support directly and indirectly at these clinics to ensure pharmacists and students had all the resources they needed for success. Ms. Moore stated that she loves providing immunizations, it has allowed her to provide valuable care that has brought her closer to her patients. In 2006, she was in the first class to graduate in Maryland with an APhA Immunization certificate. Since graduating, she has been passionate about developing opportunities to expand immunization programs in the state. She also really enjoys teaching students how to properly provide immunizations and watching as they support their communities in immunization efforts.Ms. Moore has received several recognitions for her immunization efforts and precepting students. Some awards include, Shoppers Innovative and inspirational leader (2008-2009), University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Preceptor of the Year (2009-2010) and NCPA Pharmacist of the Year (2013). She also was in the PBS video "Vaccination from the Misinformation Virus." Advice that Ms. Moore would like to provide to immunizer is: "Have a consistent immunization process and involve the entire pharmacy team to be successful." Show less
