      Ph.d botany a

During my Ph. D. I have worked on the constitutive production of beta-galactosidase both in the presence of glucose and lactose, in Lactobacillus fermentum M1, that I had isolated from fermented milk Samples in West Bengal India. I have isolated both the beta-galactosidase gene and its protein and analyzed its sequence. I have also isolated the constitutive promoter, its regulatory sequence, analyzed them and further cloned them into Lactococcus lactis NZ9000. This study would inevitably… Show more During my Ph. D. My work basically focuses on the use of different fusion proteins which have the potential of being used as immune-contraceptives. The work involves extensive cloning , over-expression,inclusion body isolation, protein purification, mice immunization, evaluation of antibody titres, their immunogennecity and time dependent antibody kinetics, indirect immunofluorescence, histopathological studies and real time PCR, vaccine development among others. The findings have been substantiated with subsequent research on animal models. Show less

      Sept 2016 - Feb 2022

My focus in this position is to propose and implement research studies for the Department of Comparative Diagnostic and Population Medicine. I explore whole genome sequencing and evaluate E. coli and Salmonella isolates from retail poultry meat using Qiagen CLC workbench. This research pinpoints causes of urinary tract infections, and propels development of therapeutic drugs, tool antibodies, and vaccines. I apply the red recombinase method to alter the genome of E. coli and Salmonella. I also purify and characterize E. coli SLP protein and investigate transcriptional profiles of E. coli RS218 to identify virulence factors of neonatal meningitis and I work together to study Recombinant Attenuated Salmonella Vaccine for management of rodent and other disease carrying populations. •Procured funding from Botstiber Institute to work with members of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology to evaluate efficient, environmental friendly ways to manage rodent populations using fusion proteins;blended egg antigen zona pellucida glycoprotein3, sperm antigen, sperm protein 17, and GnRH; cloned recombinant fusion antigens in different lysis, non-lysis, and secretory vectors such as pG8R111, pG8R114, and pG8R110 and expressed in Salmonella Typhimuriumχ12341.I can professionally lead research operations and processes across multiple departments while leading, developing, and engaging teams of exceptional talent.
