  My research focuses on understanding and improving urban forest management by studying the impact of climatic and physiological factors on tree water use. I used real-time measurement technologies to monitor tree water use in urban areas and quantify the effects of abiotic factors on water usage. The research also highlighted the superior drought resilience of evergreen species compared to deciduous species, emphasising the need for species-specific water management strategies. One key outcome of this research is developing a real-time decision support system for urban forest management, which integrates local weather station data with predictive models to optimise irrigation schedules. This research offers insights into tree water demand and resilience, supporting the development of real-time urban water management strategies and integrating intelligent technologies into urban forest management to improve city sustainability in the face of climate change.
